🎨 About the Artist: Lanice
Lanice is a Plettenberg Bay local with a rich, vibrant history that deeply influences her artwork. Born in Zimbabwe, she attended Brillantmont Finishing School in Lausanne, Switzerland. She later moved to South Africa, married, and raised her three daughters in Johannesburg. Lanice and her family relocated to Botswana to build and run a luxury boutique guest lodge in a beautiful, remote Game Reserve. Now in beautiful Plettenberg Bay, she balances her time selling beachfront homes whilst painting astonishing fine art landscapes. She has a masterful, particular talent for capturing dramatic sky scenes, ocean horizons, lush florals, and open meadows.
🖼️ The Stories Behind the Paintings
Every brushstroke reflects a real moment in time. The original pieces currently available include:
- Botswana Road Scene: A beautiful, fleeting moment captured inside the rarely-visited Northern Tuli Reserve, where her family spent many unforgettable years.
- Forest Meadow: An ethereal, romantic scene inspired by Lanice’s deep love for her husband of over 30 years.
- Meadow in Botswana: Inspired by the rare, heavy floods of the early 2000s. This semi-arid southern region completely transformed, bringing forth abundance and rolling carpets of vibrant yellow and purple wildflowers.
- Cherry Blossom Tree: A soft, natural aesthetic painted originally for her daughters' bedrooms in Plett, creating a beautiful visual anchor for her young grandchildren when they visit.
